Explainers are one way for journalists to give audiences the information they need to better understand the news of the day or the world around them. Crafting an effective explainer requires solid news judgment, detailed reporting and strong storytelling skills.
For this exercise, participants in the “Disrupt the News” workshop at Zagreb University used VideoScribe software to create explanatory stories relevant to our exploration of the nature of work in Croatia. (You’ll see that some of our examples use the free version, which includes the product’s watermark.)
